Meet President Elect - Laurie Brazil
After spending 30+ years in education as a Reading Specialist at Zephyr Cove I was able to devote some time to other endeavors that had my interest. Soroptimist of Tahoe Sierra fits that bill both with their mission and also their dedicated and fun-loving members. Undeniably there’s.........
particular interest in the Summer Book Program, Fighting Chance, On Your Way Awards and student scholarships yet the environmental focus dovetails nicely with my younger years spent as an interpretive Specialist for the California State Parks. Considering myself extremely fortunate to have lived at Vikingsholm in Emerald Bay for several seasons during and after my college summers I luckily made South Shore my permanent home and maintain advocacy for its preservation as a member of the Vikingsholm Council.
Retirement with my paramedic/firefighter husband keeps us busy with his Varsity Golf Coaching also work at Edgewood along with my time devoted as a member of the Barton Foundation in addition to work at the outdoor summer concerts as a bartender & server at VIP events. The extra time in our schedules allows extension to our yearly visit to beloved Kaua’i and also enjoy, promote, and share my passion for our unique and breath-taking lake plus my love of all things water, garden, friends or outdoors.
